The new recipe of Rama contains a combination of 3 vegetable oils. But why does Rama use a combination of 3 oils instead of choosing only one?

The vegetable oils in Rama contain the essential fatty acids alpha linolenic and linoleic acid (better known as omega 3 and omega 6). These fatty acids can not be made by the body itself, and should therefore be taken in through the diet. However, all vegetable oils have a different nutritional composition: some contain more alpha linolenic acid and some contain more linoleic acid. Only by blending different types of vegetable oils Rama can provide a product which is high in good fats and low in bad fats, and more importantly which has a unique combination of essential fatty acids.

Corn oil
Corn is probably one of the oldest cultivated grains in the Americas. It was probably already used 5000 BC. Corn oil is a good source of essential fatty acids. 60% of the corn oil is linoleic acid and 1% is alpha linolenic acid.

Sunflower Oil
Sunflower is one of the major oilseed crops produced in the world. Sunflower oil is one of the healthiest vegetable oils available. It contains a high amount of polyunsaturated fats which have many beneficial roles in the body. Sunflower oil is an excellent source of linoleic acid but has as low content of alpha linolenic acid.

Rapeseed oil
Rapeseed oil has been grown throughout the world for thousands of years. Rapeseed oil contains 11% alpha linolenic acid and 21% linoleic acid and is thus an important source of essential fatty acids.
